Tracing boards
What age are the magnetic tracing boards for?
They are made for ages three and up. Most three-year-olds start on the shapes & lines board; the ABC and number boards follow once a child can hold the stylus steadily.
Do the boards need batteries?
No. The beads are lifted by a magnet in the stylus tip and pushed back down with a finger. No batteries, no screens, no charging.
The beads don’t lift smoothly — what helps?
Hold the pen straight up rather than at an angle, and glide along the arrows without pressing hard. That keeps the magnet close to the beads and the trail clean.
Can the beads fall out?
They are sealed inside the plastic case. There are no loose beads to escape.
Letters & phonics
What is the difference between your two magnetic letter kits?
The eight-colour kit uses bright mixed colours for open play. The red-and-blue kit colours every vowel red and every consonant blue, which helps with phonics and word patterns.
238 or 178 pieces?
The 238 kit has 234 letters (182 lowercase, 52 capitals). The 178 kit has 156 letters plus 10 numbers and 12 symbols. Both include the double-sided magnetic board, markers and an eraser.
Are the foam letters safe for toddlers?
They are soft EVA foam with full magnet backs. Foam can be chewed, so for toddlers we suggest putting out a few letters at a time and playing together.
Which word builder comes first?
Start with the CVC chart (cup → cap). Move to the CVCC & CCVC chart when blends like fl-, dr- or -st are the next challenge.
Boards, pockets & storage
Do the lap boards stick to the fridge?
No. The writing surface holds magnets, but the boards have no magnetic back, so they won’t cling to metal surfaces.
Will my worksheets fit the dry-erase pockets?
Yes for letter-size (8.5 × 11 in) and 9 × 12 in sheets. Each pocket is 10 × 14 in outside with about 9.5 × 11.8 in of usable space.
How do I clean marker off?
Wipe with a dry tissue or the eraser soon after use. For older marks, a soft damp cloth; for stubborn ones, mild soap and water.
Will the storage bins fit my cubbies?
The 6-quart latching bins are 12 × 7.2 × 5.1 in. The 5-quart cubby bins are 12 × 7.2 in at the top, taper to 10 × 5.5 in at the base and are 5.1 in tall. Measure your cubby opening first.
